Discover the Harrower Summer Opera Workshop, a unique program with a relaxed yet professional atmosphere in the heart of Atlanta–the hub of southern culture and hospitality. The three-week workshop includes acting and movement classes, instruction in stage makeup, stage combat and foreign language diction, private coaching, seminars and master classes with international artists, and fully staged and costumed productions.
The remarkable faculty at Harrower includes Carroll Freeman, artistic director, Classical Singer magazines’ 2010 Stage Director of the Year and the Valerie Adams Distinguished Professor of Opera Studies at Georgia State University; W. Dwight Coleman, executive director; and Jennifer Larmore, internationally acclaimed opera singer and winner of the Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording in 2007.
Live auditions took place on February 11, 2017, in Atlanta, GA. Online auditions will be available as needed for out of town auditionees.

- Three tracks of study - the Young Artist Program, the Studio Program, and Directing Internships
Young Artist Program is for more advanced singers. Applicants admitted to this program will sing roles in the final fully-staged productions.
Studio Program is for singers looking to improve their skills in a nurturing, yet intensive environment. Participants selected for this program will sing ensemble roles in the productions. Studio participants may qualify to move up to the Young Artist Program. If they elect to do so, their tuition will increase to the Young Artist Program tuition.
Directing Internships are designed for a collegiate voice teacher who directs opera or an aspiring stage director. The selected intern(s) will receive an award of full tuition. Applicants interested in this program should select "Directing Intern" in the application process.

Young Artist Program Tuition - $1,200.00
Studio Program Tuition - $650.00
Housing will be available at an additional cost for those accepted into the program who wish to stay on Georgia State University's Campus. Daily commuter parking is not provided. Information regarding the cost of housing will be available in Spring 2017.
Applicants acknowledge that, should they be accepted into the program, all tuition and fees must be paid in full by April 28, 2017. Participants who are not paid in full by April 28, 2017, will have their slot and housing canceled. For participant cancellations not made before April 28, 2017, the full tuition and housing fee is incurred.
